Water can come in to your home from many areas. As you can see from this picture, it can come in from cracks in the wall and floor. It can also come in at the floor/wall joint. With enough pressure from the outside, water can even push a wall inward. When residents have these problems, they have many options on how to take care of the problem. No matter who does the work, the majority of companies will likely give you one of 3 options.
One option is excavating the outside of your foundation wall. Some companies will try to tell you this is the best option. It's been said that Albert Einstein once said, "THE DEFINITION OF INSANITY IS DOING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN AND EXPECTING A DIFFERENT RESULT." This type of fix is simply re-doing what was done when the home was originally built. Another option that you may have presented to you is having a drain tile system which is placed on the top of the footing. The major flaw in this method is that for the system to even begin to work, water has to get up higher than the top of the footing, which will maintain a high amount of hydrostatic pressure on your floors. Our goal is to reduce the amount of water under your concrete floor, not create a constant pool under it!

DRAINTILE
We place our drain tile on the side of the footing, not the top. This placement puts the drain tile lower where the water actually is, before it can even get up near the cold joint (wall and floor connection).
